A sport that many people love to watch is horse racing – whether you go to admire the horses, enjoy the atmosphere, or to place your bets and hopefully come away wealthier, it is a sport that has been enjoyed for centuries.

Cheltenham – This town is nestled in the Cotswold hills and was once famed for its spa water. Aintree – This small village near to Liverpool is like many other rural villages – apart from the fact that the most famous horse racing event in the UK is held here every year. In April, the Grand National is the race that everyone wants to see. This is a race that can certainly throw up some surprises, with many of the past winners being ones with very long odds indeed – Silver Birch and Mon Mome are just two horses that have won here and were far from the favourite. So if you like to bet on a race that could go any way, this is certainly the one for you – full of thrills and action, the Grand National never fails to stir up excitement in the stands!
