If you have no idea where to start or what you need to think about, here are a few ideas that will help you to plan your summer garden party…

Food – For food outdoors think about picnic style foods  – this makes it a lot easier for you as a host. Sandwiches are always a classic that go down well and of course cakes are always good – particularly a Victoria sponge – make this with jam and buttercream, flavoured with vanilla extract.

Lighting – If you are going to be having a party that goes on into the evening you will need to think about lighting. Solar lights are perfect for a garden party, and candles are another great way to light the garden at night.

Games – If you are throwing a party with little ones in attendance then you will want to provide some entertainment. Simple garden games are perfectly fine, as well as sandpits and paddling pools.
