Home

With Autumn just around the corner, it is a busy time for gardeners. If you are wondering what to do at this time of year in the garden here are a few things to help your garden over the coming cooler months…

Repair any damage in the garden now – it is important to do this before the weather worsens, as this can turn small problems into much bigger ones. Repair things like damaged fences, raised beds and any outdoor structures such as garden sheds. If you have a greenhouse, check it is all in good order as this will be where a lot of tender young plants take refuge in the winter.

Talking of plants, colder weather doesn’t have to mean that you don’t have a beautiful garden – there are many plants that you can put in the garden that will be perfect in the winter months, you can even order from the comfort of your home from somewhere like this Online Garden Centre Kent https://www.simplygogardening.co.uk so don’t think that the winter means that you can’t grow anything.

Now is also a good time to plant those bulbs ready for next spring – create a wild woodland area with bluebells which planted in September will emerge in May, and of course the beautiful daffodils can also be planted now as bulbs ready to emerge in the springtime.

If there are trees overhanging the garden, you will most likely have to also keep on top of the falling leaves that will come in the later autumn months. Collect them up and add them to your compost bin.
