What is the most popular UK food?

Travel

When people think of British food, they often picture fish and chips or Sunday roasts. While these foods remain popular today, our tastes have evolved over the years. Fast-food delivery companies released statistics that revealed our favourite ‘go to’ cuisines for when we don’t feel like cooking.

1 Burgers

A good old American-style burger is always a favourite. We love the combination of juicy beef with any number of ingredients, including cheese, bacon, lettuce or tomato. Double burgers are a favourite when it comes to fast food and eating out. 2 Chinese

Chinese food is hugely popular as well. You can eat the food with chopsticks or a knife and fork and enjoy dishes like fried rice, Schezuan beef and noodles.

3 Italian

We can’t seem to get enough Italian food. There are many different types of pasta and, of course, pizza. Pizza is a great food to enjoy with family and friends, whether it’s delivered or eaten at a restaurant. Its simplicity and deliciousness, as well as the variety of flavours available to satisfy every palate, must be its appeal.

4 Indian

It is just spicy enough to warm us up, but not so hot that our tongues are on fire. We like curry served with mango chutney, poppadoms and naan bread. From korma to vindaloo, curry is a national favourite.

5 Mexican

Mexican food has become increasingly popular. The contrast in flavours is what entices us. The hot salsa is balanced by the cool, soured cream and avocado. Tacos, nachos, tortillas and spicy rice are just some of the delicious items on offer.
